D6 Memberships Evolved!

I have not done one of these in a long time but it’s probably the best place to compile everything that’s going on and changing for D6 games in 2026! With that said this will be the first in a small series of blogs that will help break down and explain everything you need to know.
The D6 Membership the origins and future plans
I wanted to start with the D6 membership first! Some of you may now be thinking you have a membership?? Yes, We do!. Its origins came from the very start of this journey with me reaching out to the players who wanted me to provide more events, and asking them to give me £30 up front to help buy a load of our beautiful snot goblin modular terrain. In return they got a discount on the events that they took part in that year. (A bit of you help me i will help you kinda thing)
As an extra, I added the Event league, which just tracked those members results in our events and put them into a little league table. We had a season champion for both our Narative events and competitive events that year!
Two years down the line we are now in a position where we have plenty of terrain and realistically we are refining what we have. So the memberships purpose will evolve into something that’s is more in line with my vision of a community, and be geared towards a few topics that are a recent passion of mine. This club/ Community’s purpose will be to provide what’s called a “Third Space” for players!
(For those that don’t know a third space is commonly known to be somewhere that isn’t your home and isn’t your work it’s a place you would socialise regularly.)
D6 Games will aim to provide opportunities for players and Hobbyists to get involved with something either physically via Events/ Open days or team competition and Regular Club Nights (Both our Own or our Friends clubs). Or digitally via online hobby challenges, Online Leagues or paint and chat sessions. The idea here (like allot of sports) is to create something you can do that not only fits your hobby preferences, but helps you feel you are part of something bigger and you and your efforts are an integral part of a team and its success.
Ok Rob this sounds great! How is it going to work?
This is the easy bit on November 1st the D6 membership will open back up you can go to the page here it will remain open to new members until August 15th. You sign up for £30 for the year and you become a member! It’s that simple!
So what do you get for your membership?
Great Question! Let’s go through all of that now. What should you expect for the 2026 D6 Membership?!
Discounts
The D6 games membership will give all members a flat 10% discount on all our RTT & GT events and club nights. We are also lining up discounts from sponsored company’s that we use and or are local business we work with so you can get a discount on their products as well.
T-Shirt & Pin
Every year you are a member of D6 Games, you will get one of our Members tops with your name on the back. You dont have to wear it at events but it’s your little status symbol as a member. You will also get a cool little Pin.
Free Physical Events
The plan for the 2026 calendar is to provide 2 open play days for free for members. The first is around the D6 birthday in August and the second at Christmas. The birthday events will also double up for our champion of champions event in 2026. As the membership grows we plan to expand these themed open days to either other locations or increase the frequency of them.
Our County comps also are included in the Membership and with our event series moving into Cambridge we might end up having 3 full teams by the end of the year 2027 but the best 10 members from each region ( based on the D6 league) will be invited to play as part of a county team. This year team Essex will travel to Bedfordshire to try and Defend the trophy.
Free Digital Events
The Hobby isn’t all RTTs and GTs some like to paint and build and do the creative stuff. So we will be starting a Hobby progress challenge to help motivate players to get there army’s ready or to give hobbyist a reason to finish that 10 man Guard Squad they have had sat on the desk for a while. This will be a free thing and anyone can take part. More details on this challenge will be posted in the members events page.
Competitions
We have run both a narrative league and a Competitive League between the members for the past 2 years, and those have a set structure on how it works and more details on those crunchy bits will be posted on the events page of the membership section. But if you’re a member and you take part in either our Narative days or competitive days your results get tracked. The player who does best by my metrics will be crowned the champion of that year and will have there name added to our very cool trophy’s! This years champions will win a battle force box and 2026 will see D6 games expand into AOS and HH in the Essex area and depending on the member count these systems might get the same treatment.
(I would like to note if you sign up later in the year your tracking of events will start from that point we wont be going back and digging out old data.)
Principally with everything i would like to do, i doubt we will have any members budget left over but what ever we do have will be donated to a charity that focuses on Mental health this year.
