Looking Ahead to the D6 2027 Season

In today’s blog I wanted to expand on yesterday’s blog and talk all about the things you can expect to see in the 2027 D6 Season.

Over the past three years, we have come an incredibly long way from the first ever event we organised. We’ve gone from a mixture of table mat sizes and everyone bringing all sorts of terrain from their collections, to fully kitted-out Snot Goblin Gaming terrain on nice terrain templates and even mats with inch markers around the edges.

Now it’s time for the next step!

I am looking at the next 12 months and have put together what I think is an exciting timetable of events. But these events won’t just be random stand-alone events; they will create a full calendar season. Every event will have its place in the calendar and serve as an important connection point to the community across the year.

What Makes It a Season?

D6 events are designed with the idea that you can attend one, two or all of them, but whatever you do, your efforts are part of a larger community, whether that is socially, competitively or narratively. The more you take part, the more opportunities there will be to earn recognition and rewards along the way.

Competitive players will be able to earn rankings, circuit points and rewards throughout the season. For narrative players, your story-driven events will connect into one evolving campaign across the year, with your armies, heroes, victories and defeats all helping to shape what happens next! A structured season of events across all four counties allows for all of this and gives us the ability to create regular play, giving you opportunities to compete, tell stories and become part of a wider Warhammer community in your county.

Every event still stands on its own. You don’t need to attend the whole season to compete for an event win, make an impact on the narrative or feel part of what is happening.

Four Counties. One D6 Season.

Last year, we added Cambridge to our D6 schedule to work alongside Bedford and Essex. This new location has been a great addition to the roster, and we cannot wait to expand into it further! This year, we are aiming to add the London Borough of Redbridge, bringing us up to four regions in total. With a hall a short walk from a Central line station, it will hopefully help those players who have struggled to attend our events since we moved from Theydon Bois to Chelmsford in the Essex region.

Each of the four regions will have its own roster of events, spread across roughly four or five weekends throughout the year. This helps us provide a consistent set of events across the year without having so many events in one location that it becomes a bit too much for players living in that region. Your local region gives you a regular home for D6 events, but it doesn’t restrict where you can play. If you live in Bedford and want to attend an Essex event because you want to earn ranking points, or if you are a narrative player and want to see what the next part of the story is, you absolutely can.

Two Ways to Experience D6 Games Events in 2027

In 2027, there will be two avenues of play you can take part in across the year: competitive play or narrative play.

Competitive play will come in a few forms. For the single player events, we will have two-day GTs and one-day RTTs. Team play will also become a bigger part of the season, with one-day, three-player Teams RTTs giving players regular opportunities to compete together. Every competitive event will contribute towards the wider D6 competitive season, with points, rankings and rewards available throughout the year. Winners of our individual competitive events will also earn an invitation to our end-of-season Champion of Champions event.

D6 Initiative members will also have their own season-long league, with the highest-ranked member at the end of the year crowned our 2027 Members League Champion.

Then we have our narrative events for both 30K and 40K. These events are about you and your army telling a story about how your army played a key role in the victory or defeat of your side throughout the evolving story across the year. Your efforts on the day will be tracked on an interactive map created by Archies Forge, and depending on the scale of your wins and losses, they will affect what actions you can take on the map and how many you can make. Your actions on the map will influence the story of the day and, ultimately, the year’s wider narrative.

For the first time, members will have the chance to represent their county in D6 County Teams. More details on this will come in tomorrow’s blog!

So, Do I Have to Play Every Event?

No, you do not. All events will have individual ticket sales available, and if you want to keep up to date with the latest league tables, evolving stories and County Team selections, you can do so via our website, which will be getting regular updates.

Whether you want to chase trophies, represent your county, shape the narrative or simply come along for a few great games of Warhammer, there will be a place for you in the 2027 D6 Season.
